Support the DfG Morocco Emergency Response Project

On September 8, 2023 a 6.8 magnitude earthquake shook the countryside near Marrakech, Morocco. The quake destroyed village homes located in the High Atlas Mountains. Roads and ancient buildings were also damaged, and the death toll is close to 3,000, while more than 5,600 people are injured.

In emergency situations the unique needs of women and girls are often left out of humanitarian responses.

Days for Girls is rallying to respond. Together, with Global Empowerment Mission, we are providing menstrual product options to those affected by the earthquake.

Our Goal: 2,400 DfG Hybrid Kits

In an immediate crisis situation, like we are seeing in Morocco, providing menstrual product options is vital. Circumstances are changing constantly and for the earthquake survivors, being suddenly uprooted means access to water, soap, washing and drying facilities and/or privacy may not be available.

For this reason, the menstrual health needs will be best met by supplying Hybrid Kits (a customized Kit that includes both washable and disposable options). Education is included in a Hybrid Kit in the form of a DfG trifold. These options provide choice, flexibility, and both short and long term options as individuals’ circumstances change.

Every dollar contributed at this link goes towards our Morocco Emergency Response Project.

Our goal is to raise $48,000 which will provide 2,400 DfG Hybrid Kits to women and girls in Morocco.

With manmade and natural disasters raging around the world, Days for Girls is choosing to lift where we stand. Right now, our humanitarian efforts are centered on Morocco, but this is just one of the many ongoing disaster relief efforts we are engaged in, including recent projects in Ukraine, Turkey, Syria and Lebanon.
