Leyla Isin-Xiong

Chief Programs Officer

As a member of the DfGI Executive Team, Leyla is responsible for developing, planning, implementing, and overseeing the strategic direction, smooth implementation, operation, and growth of the Global Programs Department. This includes menstrual health education, advocacy, social enterprises, monitoring learning and evaluation, grants implementation, partnership development, and global volunteer programs.

Leyla has been involved with DfG since 2016, when she helped a local group start a DfG menstrual health initiative in Laos. She joined the DfG Staff team in April 2019 and has since held a number of roles including Global Chapters Director, Global Education Director, and Global Programs Director, before taking on her current role as Chief Programs Officer.

Leyla has a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the Australian National University and a graduate certificate in TESOL. She is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in International and Community Development. She lives in Luang Prabang, Laos, and is passionate about gender equality, women’s health, and access to education. She brings experience in project planning, management and implementation, and sustainable development best practices within the fields of community development, education, and women’s health.
