Lauren Nelson

Grants Manager

As Grants Manager, Lauren is responsible for finding, writing and applying to grants that enable Days for Girls International to continue its work throughout the globe. She is also responsible for assisting the Communications team with social media and content writing to amplify DfGI’s mission of helping every menstruator everywhere.

Prior to working with Days for Girls International, Lauren worked in Uganda with the nonprofit organization, International Justice Mission, helping to protect women and children from violence by affecting judicial systemic change. She also worked as a parliamentary assistant at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh, writing speeches and press and constituent correspondence for her member of parliament. Lauren has experience living and working in Sub Saharan Africa, Europe, Asia and the United States, and is passionate about finding and celebrating equitable and sustainable solutions to issues affecting women and children around the world.

Lauren has a bachelor's degree in English Writing and Literature from Brigham Young University and a certificate in Spanish fluency from the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages.

Lauren loves traveling and exploring new places. She also enjoys writing and reading poetry and good books.
