Cynthia Pokuah
Cynthia is so excited to join Days for Girls UK as a member of the board. She is a menstrual health and hygiene management advocate with a passion for educating women and young girls about their periods and creating sustainable solutions. This passion has taken her as far as Uganda where she spent 3 months in a rural village, teaching women and girls about their sexual reproductive health and rights. She is currently working on a project to provide school girls in Ghana with period products.
She is also a TuWezeshe Fellowship Alumni (FORWARD UK) and through this fellowship, she has written an ‘edutainment’ style book about a 10 year old girl who has woken up to find out that she has started her period. The book explores myths and misconceptions about periods and teaches girls to be proud of them.
Cynthia hopes to use her experience at Days for Girls to continue making an impact in the lives of women and girls around the world.
