Linda Johnson

Linda was born in Bristol but grew up in West London next to what is now Heathrow Airport, where her father was a Customs Officer. After attending the local primary school and the Green School for Girls in Isleworth, Linda went on to study Physics with Subsidiary Maths at Reading University. She then completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and went on to teach in Greenford and Harrow, in North and West of London. 

Linda married Martin in 1971 and they have two sons and four grandchildren. Following their move to Cumbria in 1996, Linda taught at Carlisle College. Having now retired, Linda has become a volunteer treasurer to several organisations, including DfG UK. Linda is an active member of her local Methodist Church, is the local Christian Aid organiser and a Traidcraft Fairtrader. She is also trustee of the North Cumbria Methodist Circuit. In between making bags and liners for DfG UK, Linda enjoys fell-walking and gardening.
