Cindy Okullo

Social Enterprise Program Associate Director

As Associate Director for the Social Enterprise Program, Cindy is responsible for developing, planning, implementing, and overseeing the strategic direction, smooth implementation, operation, and growth of DfG’s Social Enterprise Program.

Born from a humble background in the District of Alebtong in Northern Uganda, Cindy Okullo grew up with her single mum and two siblings: a life was marred with rural poverty and struggles for basic survival. Miraculously, she had bursary and scholarship opportunities which enabled her to earn a Master of Science degree in Public Health from International Health Sciences University (IHSU)/Clerk University in Uganda, a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute (UMI), and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University Kampala (MUK).

Cindy brings along over 13 years experience having worked cross-culturally at both national and regional levels in Uganda implementing community health and economic empowerment programs. Besides programming, she served at a Board level and also as a founder member of two organizations; Global Link Afrika (GLA) and Enable Motherhood Uganda (EMU).

Cindy draws her passion for menstrual health management and economic empowerment from her infertility journey of 7 years. Doctors could only trace this back to infections due to poor menstrual management earlier in her life.

She lives in Uganda with her husband Mr. Samuel Baker Okullo and their two miracle children (twins- boy and girl). During her free time, she loves watching movies, reading, riding motorbikes and having fun with her family.
