How Chapters Can Support Enterprises
Over the past two years Days for Girls NW Suburban Boston has partnered with the Days for Girls Enterprise Team to pilot a micro-grant program to support women-led enterprises in Uganda and Kenya. It was such a pleasure to work with the Enterprise Team. They helped us identify Enterprises that had committed leadership, community support, and a clear plan to expand production and increase distribution of DfG Kits and Kit components through local schools. We raised $1500 to support three Enterprises: the Chumvi Enterprise in Kenya; and Kamala Women Force and Mission for Community Development in Uganda.
We are committed to continuing our partnership with Days for Girls to expand the availability of micro-grants for other Enterprises. We know that by investing in these promising start-up enterprises, more girls will stay in school and more women will earn a livelihood. With our resources and the business coaching and leadership development support these enterprises receive from Days For Girls, we have confidence our money is making a big difference.
