During a long career in government working with people who were vulnerable for many different reasons, Roslyn became passionate about empowering everyone to improve their own lives, and to meaningfully participate in and contribute to their communities. After retirement, an information session showed her how DfGAL works towards the same goals through its advocacy, products and education.
Initially attracted by the chance to sew and socialise, Roslyn joined the Avoca Beach team in 2019. She then became Child Protection Officer in 2020 and joined the Board in 2022. She brings the skills and experience gained during her work life to the Board, including education, advocacy, strategic thinking, problem-solving, governance, program implementation and change management.
