Cathie Searle

DIRECTOR

Cathie became interested in Days for Girls during the Rotary International Conference in 2014 and joined the North Strathfield Team soon after. She became the Team Leader in 2018, advancing the long-standing commitment to supply kits and establish an Enterprise in Bhutan. As Team Leader, she forged a relationship with Lendlease Corporate Office, resulting in 2 very successful “packing events” hosted by the Lendlease staff and an invitation to apply for a grant with the Community Enterprise Foundation, operated by Lendlease. $10,000 was awarded under this grant program to fund the supply of Days for Girls kits to Bathurst Island and Wadeye Community. Since relocating to the Sunshine Coast in 2022, Cathie has remained part of what is now known as the Strathfield Team and become a home sewer for them.

Professionally, Cathie has been part of the Vision Eye Institute family for over 20 years. She is currently the General Manager of Operations for Queensland and enjoys mentoring and developing emerging talent in the organization. Prior to joining Vision Eye Institute, Cathie held a clinical role as an orthoptist and a management position as the Deputy Director of Administrative Services at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children. Cathie has a Master of Health Administration from the University of New South Wales and a Diploma of Applied Science (Orthoptics) from Cumberland College of Health Sciences.
