Women Deliver Update

I just returned from Women Deliver where 8,000 passionate changemakers from 165 nations gathered in Vancouver Canada over 4 inspiring days. The theme of the conference was “POWER” and I must say, witnessing the energy and passion from participants committed to lifting women and communities was nothing short of powerful. The power of menstrual management was a theme that came up all day, every day. From the President of Kenya, to a 19-year-old dynamo, and presenters from around the globe speaking about WASH, equity, health, you name it; the issue of addressing menstrual health came up again and again. The cross-cutting impact of what we do was acknowledged by all sectors. What a difference fr

Menstrual Hygiene Day Across the World

The theme for Menstrual Hygiene (MH) Day on May 28th was, “It’s Time for Action!” And action is what Days for Girls volunteers, Global Offices, and Enterprises delivered. We had an explosion of MH activities all over the world! Our MH activities were as diverse as the countries in which we work. End of Sentence, in Ghana, and we sat on a me

Given this dire situation, we have had an outpouring of interest from DfG volunteers looking for ways to help in a coordinated and impactful manner. As a result, we have set a goal to join in a collective effort to reach 33,000 refugee and IDP women and girls with DfG menstrual health Kits and education! One of the locations selected for this project is Lebanon. The wonderful work being done there is highlighted in the feature

Creating Pathways Through Film

Award winning video journalist and filmmaker Tania Safi and video assist Rachelle Hair recently spent two days with DfG Lebanon learning about DfG’s response to the refugee crisis in Lebanon and participating in several DfG Kit distributions, all while filming the experience in order to create the incredible video, “Turning Periods into Pathways,” as part of Tania’s recent project called Shway Shway. While her parents met in Lebanon and her siblings were born there, Tania was born and raised in Australia. Recently, she decided to pack up and move to Lebanon with her partner where she now volunteers filming organizations who are making a difference as a way to inspire others to not only see t
