Mary Connelly-Gale

AUSTRALIAN CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

In May 2019, Mary was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer for DfGAL, taking over from Gloria Buttsworth. Mary’s involvement with Days for Girls began in 2014 when she founded the Camberwell Chapter along with Carolyn Walker. Her passion for the cause led her to promote Days for Girls at every opportunity when she moved to the Marshall Islands in 2015. Upon her return to country Victoria, she discovered that there were no nearby teams and so she established the Goulburn Valley Chapter. Mary’s time in India and the Marshall Islands exposed her to the challenges facing women and girls due to the menstruation taboo, which motivated her to take action.

Mary holds a Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Marketing and Public Relations. In addition, she has studied human resource management and management accounting. Recently, she successfully completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors course.
